ThinkThin will soon debut a line of hot oatmeal products that has 10 grams of protein and live probiotics. The Maple Pecan, Cinnamon Almond and Blueberry Harvest flavors are made with no artificial flavors or sweeteners and log 200 or fewer calories per container.
As consumers' expectations for energy drinks become more specific and sophisticated, beverage manufacturers are moving beyond formulations that are simply meant to stave off sleepiness. The addition of functional ingredients to drinks is meant to boost mental cognition, increase immunities and help with weight management, among other attributes.
Consumers are increasingly buying products such as bottled water via e-commerce, and "online grocery shopping is on an unstoppable march," said Tetra Pak Group CEO Dennis Jonsson. Because shipping goods can be expensive, brands should work on packaging solutions to make shipping more cost-effective, said Tetra Pak's Alexandre de Souza Carvalhoof.

Conagra Brands is expanding its Healthy Choice Power Bowls range with the launch of a new line of breakfast products in four varieties. The flavors are Pesto and Egg White Scramble, Unwrapped Burrito Scramble, Roasted Red Pepper and Egg White Shashuska, and Turkey Sausage and Egg White Scramble, each featuring 190 or fewer calories.
Campbell Soup has hired Diego Palmieri as chief marketing officer for its US Meals and Beverages unit. Palmieri, who joins Campbell from SC Johnson, will oversee marketing for brands such as Prego, Campbell's, Swanson and V8.
