The Las Vegas City Council approved a 1.2 million-square-foot casino resort this week. The hotel will have 777 guest rooms, and an above-ground parking garage will be constructed across Main Street with access to the casino and hotel via a pedestrian bridge.
Local restaurants and casinos soon will be able to procure salads from an indoor vertical farm east of the Las Vegas Strip. Oasis Biotech will begin deliveries next week and can provide roughly 9,500 servings of mixed salad each day.

MGM Resorts International has filed suit against hundreds of people affected by the shooting at its Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas. The company claims it has "no liability of any kind" to families of the victims or survivors, citing a law put in place after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Many gamers resist receiving help from formal services and don't think the amount of time they spend betting suggests a harmful habit, according to a report from Australian National University's Center for Gambling Research. "What we found has given us significant insight into facilitating peoples' ability to identify gambling harm and to develop strategies and identify appropriate resources to address gambling harm," said Marisa Fogarty, the center's director.
The Driving Arkansas Forward Committee collected enough signatures to place a casino measure on the November ballot. If the proposal passes, it would legalize betting at a horse track in Hot Springs and a dog track in West Memphis as well as pave the way for casinos in Pope and Jefferson counties.
Monday's deadline saw online gaming applications from nine of Pennsylvania's 13 casinos. If approved, the license fees would bring in $90 million to the state's treasury.
With operators racing to offer sports betting ahead of September's football season, New Jersey has received five new applications. Currently, the Borgata, Ocean Resort, Monmouth Park and the Meadowlands are approved for sports betting.
